What is the best way to do slow mo? what speed to film in? and should I just Add slow mo in editing, or is there a way to record in slow mo?

There is no way to record in slow mo. The best way to do it though, is to shoot in 60i. The slow mo will come out MUCH smoother than when shot in 24p. Just shoot in 60i and take the speed down in your NLE. Once you get below about 65% though, even 60i starts to look crappy when slowed. Just experiment till you get the right look, try shooting 30p, I have heard that can be slowed down with fairly good results.

The best way to shoot slow-mo on a DVX is to shoot 60i at 1/120th shutter speed, and then play it back at a fixed rate of 50% (if in a 29.97 timeline) or 40% (if in a 24p timeline). That way each field gets turned into its own frame, with no jitter or wobble, and while it loses vertical resolution, it retains filmlike temporal motion.

That's up to your editing program. I do it in Vegas all the time, but I guess FCP doesn't allow different frame rates on the same timeline? Don't know about other editors.
