i'm working on a music video that will be aired on TV so i've shot it in 24p (not 24pa) so it will conform to broadcast standards. however i want to do a few slow-mo shots (which i know you shoot 60i @ 120 shutter) but i still want the progressive look that the rest of the full speed video will have. how do i go about doing this? because if i just import the 60i footage on the 29.97 timeline it will look like normal interlaced video and won't match the rest of the video. help please?

you need to deinterlace the 60i footage. You'll get seperate frames then, but at half the original resoulution.

Deinterlace the 60i footage if you wish. There are various ways todo slo-mo :

1- In camera option i.e. maximize shutter speed to get more frames in less time
2- Slo-Mo Adaptor attached in front of camera (i really can't say about it)
3- Dublicating every other frame to half the speed of motion
4- Interpolate frame to slow down the speed

I guess the slow motion found in NLE's today actually do the 2nd one which is also my suggested one. My suggestion to you is utilize option-1 and 4 to get a relatively slo-mo footage.

:-) Any suggestions !!!
