Slow-mo in camera

Hi - does anyone here know how to do slow motion (between 50-75%) in camera using a dvx100A? Is that even possible?
I'm trying to do a slow motion shot w/ out all the frame rate choppyness that you get when using the time controls in FCP. Anyone know any trick to this?

I don't have access to a HVX :(

are you using p or i mode ?
for p, try playing with shutter speed of 120

have you try deinterlacing the footage? i did some , and mostly i had to deinterlace the footage to make it smooth in slow-mo.

it better to shoot in 50i or 60i for slow -mo shoots then 24p

The smoothest slo-mo comes from shooting 60i, and then slowing it down to 40% on a 24p timeline. (That's a 60% slo-mo.)

Or, if you're in PAL land, 50i slowed down 50% on a 25p timeline.

I second that. Shoot all slo-mo in 60i.... But once I've slowed down my shots, for extra measure, I take the slo-mo shot and run it through dvfilmmaker. I think it looks great.

Can you tell more on that. Did you slow down your footage with DVFilm Maker? Does it work with PAL?

No, I slowed down in premiere, rendered that file, dumped that file in to DVfilm maker for the 24p conversion. Looks great to me.
