Slow mo for PAL - shutter setting

Hi,

According to Barry Greens book, when shooting for slow motion with a PAL DVX, you should shoot in 50i and use a shutter speed setting of 1/100 to keep the film look.

As far as I can tell there doesn't appear to be a shutter speed setting of 1/100. In 50i the cycle is as follows;

synchro scan - 1/60 - 1/120 - 1/250/ - 1/500 - 1/1000 - 1/2000

Am i missing something?

I know that I can set the Synchro Scan manually but obviously it won't sit directly on 1/100.

Thanks David. It seemed quite specific the way its written. I couldn't work out why it would suggest a figure that cannot be dialed in so I was beginning to think it might be a figure that was divisible in to the 50i fps. I was barking up the wrong tree.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks Tommy. I love your Slow mo wiggle video. It's really nice and smooth. You did a good job of compressing it for the internet too. I'm doing a lot of experimenting with H.264 from Compressor but the end result is hard to judge because I think my beloved G4 Powerbook is starting to struggle with life as we know it.

Did you shoot those two videos in squeeze?

Thanks again....
