Slow autofocus and zoom... is that normal?

When I use the servo zoom, and press it all the way down, it zooms in pretty slow. It takes a good 3 seconds to reach full zoom. is that normal or is there a way to make it go faster (besides using manual zoom obviously)

Also, when I use autofocus, it is taking really long to focus. So i might aim at a doorknob, and wait like 4 seconds for it to come into focus.

Is your servo zoom slow when you use both controllers or just the one on the handle?
Handle zoom controller has a swith on the right side that says "1, 2, 3" where 1 is for slow 2 for middle and 3 for fastest speed of servo zoom movement.
This however has nothing to do with controller above tape compartment.
It is pressure sensitive - press all the way and zoom will move faster, half way for slower etc.
There is also a speed setup for handle zoom controller somewhere in the menu under "camera setup" or similar (can't really tell - don't have the camera with me here)
As for autofocus - can you share some more details? Sometime autofocus struggles depending on light conditions.

Cheers

Auto focus will be naturally be slow when shooting 24p because the auto focus mechanism is only getting a visual update 24 times per second (as opposed to 60i, when it gets 60 updates per second).

Autofocus is also slower under lower light conditions. It works best in bright light conditions and 60i, it works slowest in low light conditions and 24p.
