FS7: slog3 custom vs cine IE (again).

I know Slog 3 in custom isn´t the same as Slog3 in CineIE. But I like it, and since I use Davinci Resolve as editing software, a bit of colour correcting isn´t a problem.

Maybe I am stupid and I lack Knowledge. But I like Custom slog3 with fixed 5500K for outdoor and no mlut. And I got used to it.

I like Custom so I can change settings quickly if necessary or to be able to set the camera to full-auto when pointing and shooting is more important.

Am I the only one or are there other users with a favor for Custom Slog3 vs CineIE?

Something to make a note of:
Consider that there are different lighting situations that call for the use of both CineEI or Custom Slog3. When faced with an HDR scene, CineEI Slog3 is my go to codec. When the scene has limited contrast, like a well lit indoor set, Custom is my choice. I submit that each mode is tailored for a different set of lighting conditions.

Personally, because of the different approaches in post-workflow required to handle either Cine-EI or Custom, I would be incredibly wary of supplying footage to anyone with mixed mode recordings on them.

I think this would only really work if you were handle post yourself.

Even then you have the headache of ciphering through metadata if you forgot what mode you shot? I would think Cine.Ei with some NR in post would make it an easy choice over constantly switching between camera modes & workflows. Having previously sold my Canon setup I'm eyeballing a F5/FS7 combo but I can't think of too many situations I would trade the color & look of Cine.EI for noise reduction and white balance control(custom). Missing something?

Just sayin'...
One can make choices based on expediency, practical limitations, or quality. But an informed choice is better than an ignorant default.
We each choose what seems the most reasonable. And there is no wrong choice, when made from the position of being informed.
