SLog2 exposure with FS700/O7Q

I'm shooting primarily 4K RAW to ProResHD/SLog2. I seem to be getting pretty good results setting my exposure with the WFM on the O7Q with the LUT enabled (peaks at 100%). Is there anything fundamentally wrong with this method? Can it be improved upon?

On a fundamental basis, this method works if the LUT being used is doing the conversion properly, and to which color space the LUT is converting to, it should be REC709. One might assume the onboard C-D LUT is working properly, but, using it introduces a potential source for error. It is, IMHO, much more direct with less error, to turn the LUT off and expose for white at 59%IRE or grey at 32% IRE. In fact, you should be able to expose without the LUT at these IRE values, turn the LUT back on; and, double check that white is at 90% and grey is at 45%(using a REC709 LUT)
