On the timeline, when you add a slomo envelope, can you manually put in a % of slo mo ver dragging down the green line on the clip? Same with a transition? Thanks.

Re: Slo mo Question

When doing slow-mo you don't have to use the envelope -- you can right-click a clip, go to "properties", and then set an exact playback percentage (50% = 2:1 slow-mo, 200% = 2:1 fast-motion).

Re: Slo mo Question

the right click method applies those properties to the entire clip? Using the envelope, you can set points (I think that is the term)) and slow certain sections of an individual clip?

The reason I am using ? is because I am midway into my 30 day product demo, and do not want ot suggest that i know what i am talking about just yet. :)

Re: Slo mo Question

Yes, that is correct -- the right-click would apply to the entire clip, whereas the velocity envelope can change throughout the clip.

Re: Slo mo Question

Which is useful because suddenly slowing down or speeding up looks unnatural. If you can set a graceful curve, it will look much better.

It also gives you cool effects possibilities like "animating" a still photo, etc..

Re: Slo mo Question

You guys are great. Tried it and works fine. Same holds true for disolves or transitions?

Re: Slo mo Question

You adjust your transition length by either moving the clips or the edges of the clips. If you right-click on the transition area, you'll get an option for "fade type," and you can choose your curve style.

Re: Slo mo Question

Also, if you're using a velocity envelope (or any envelope for that matter), you can right-click on any point and choose "Set to..." and you can manually enter the value.

Re: Slo mo Question

Yes -- and if you increase the height of the track, you can get a more precise drag value, too.

Re: Slo mo Question

Hehe, I don't even know if I've looked at the manual :)

The help files are awsome!  I basically consider that the manual.

Re: Slo mo Question

Yeah, Ive been editing with the darn manual open and flipping through pages. After I cant fine what Iam looking for, I hit the post. Thanks for all your help. Should be finished by Sunday with this project. Only been able to edit a little here and there. this past week. I have been getting home later than I would like. Hopefully the next Wedding will go a little quicker. After this edit, I still need to output to DVD. Hope the DVDA doesnt stress me out. Wish I havent never use Premiere. Its a mind thing Ya Know! :'(
