Slo mo in new final cut - any improvements?

I use FCS for alot of retiming and ramp effects

i use twixtor for most of this stuff - (and spend alot of time rendering) as the FC built in slo mo is pretty basic / unuseable. I never had much luck with optical flow - it just seemed to do all sorts of weird stuff to my footage.

Can anyone tell me if there is anything new and fancy pixelwise (other than fancy retiming controls - which are useless if the built in slo mo still sucks) going on under the hood with the way Final Cut Studio 7 handles SLo mo?

i must say...i just finished my first RED edit utilizing optical flow and i am disappointed....
*in the process, not the results

motion performed rather poorly and slow.....
*many crashes over a 4 day render period

my workflow was RED to ProRes HQ
im hoping the update will improve stabilty

im actually still running FC 6....
mac pro i bought a year ago
2.66 / 7 GB ram

do you think the video card could be causing the problem?
*didnt know optical flow is tied to video card performance

im going to get the FC upgrade, in hopes it will be more stable

The controls are much easier but I suspect you'll still get better results with Twixtor.
