So when I slow down footage recorded at 720/60p to 24p using FCP's frame rate converter, it has to interpoplate frames, thus causing inherently jittery footage. 24/60 = .4.
I notice when I take converted footage and slow it down even further to 10% in FCP and obvserve the motion of individual frames, I get
10 frames of no motion, followed by 10 frames of motion, approx. This alternation continues to end of footage, creating a start-stop jitter in the footage, far from smooth.
What is going on here? Is there no way to get truly smooth footage with the frame rate converter?
