Hi, this is the prototype Slip Shoulder Base, It could be worked with F3, AF100, FS100...these lower height camera. It come with LW15mm both side, and it can be mounted on ARRI style dovetail.

It can add 15/19mm studio rods clamp in the front:

If you want your F3 work with 15/19mm studio Base, you have to add a riser under camera like this:

That will not suitable for hand-held, the optical axis and center of gravity will be too high. But if you use this Shoulder Base, the height won`t be increased.

This base has finished test, price will under 1K

Interesting. How does one adjust the balance if you hang a couple pounds of lens on the front in addition to a mattebox vs some 5oz prime by itself? Slide the camera along the slot instead of moving the shoulder pad?

Also, is the rod height adjustable?

Hi, Duke thanks for asking, you can slide the camera 8cm back along the slot, but if you have V-lock battery or recorder in the rear, you can slide it back to get the balance.
Rods clamps are fixed, they are in standard height.

Alistar ... I think this is a very good design that brings the balance to a positive point but it also, shows how absurd the basic design of the camera
really is ... !

Oh my, that F3 looks like it's been ridden hard and put away wet...
Or is all that gaff tape for protection?

Some people think the shoulder base rise the camera too much, but actually, it does not.
Compare it with Arri bridge plate with riser, it is lower a little bit.

The handle is an accessory for the shoulder base, it has safety lock and could be mounted very quickly.

This is a simply film for showing how this product works: http://vimeo.com/27249286
This product is going to be available soon.

And why I use Arri system instead of Sony V-lock system, because Arri system can adjust the balance and it is very safe and solid. And Sony V-lock system has play, and it might fall off. The only advantage is convenient. It cannot adjust the balance.

Great product ! exactly what I was looking for!

15mm and 19mm combo ,19mm on sticks with my my big Cooke zoom and 15LW on shoulder in an instant with lighter lens !
using a LCD viewfinder on the side (DP4/Zacuto) I am a big fan of the "Aaton" wooden right handle close to camera base the other hand

Lot of nice work here. Good to see another solution, of which there aren't many that incorporate the ARRI dovetail standard and the ability to not only use studio rods but easily mix both (studio and 15mm) without adding a lot of weight. How much does the shoulder mount/baseplate weigh?

Very impressed.

For the last few weeks, Allstar has been very responsive to my "numerous" emails as I needed to able to use a 15mm LW and a 19mm to support my Cooke 20-100 mm
and being able to switch from tripod to shoulder in an instant
I did went the Sony VCT-U14 Tripod Adapter route , but it didn't work, not stable enough .
Just placed my order yesterday !

Sorry for the late response
I received it few weeks ago , it is really what I was looking for , from stick to shoulder in an instant 15LW rod and 19mm too ( I have a Cooke 20-100 mm that needs it !)
Very happy with the Set Up
