SlingBox

I use one all the time.

We have one installed at a TV station in Alaska where I do some work for. I can watch it from over here in Finland any time I want. Startup lag is normally pretty short, then it'll bug one more time to catch up and then it's good to go.
Quality is fair to good, and I haven't updated to the lastest version of the software yet.
Actual tranmission delay from the box to the viewer is around 20secconds.

We use it for remote monitoring for staff who are out of town or if something goes wrong. We can use it to monitor out outgoign feed, as well as our and other local stations broadcast off cable or satellite. Combined with remote control of the station via the internet, it's a prety powerfull tool. Just yesterday I used it to monitor the EAS system going off for the Tsunami warning and make sure that things where runn ok while the station was un-manned at 3am local time.

- Though I mainly use it for watching Late Night With Conan O' Brien 3 days before the re-run over here.
