Slim HDMI cables

I like that they're thin but I wonder if it might be problematic for recorders.

Question 3: What are the Most Important Features of an HDMI Cable?
When searching for an HDMI Cable, several features are essential to guarantee prime performance. These essential features include the wire gauge (AWG) used in the cable design, the type of HDMI connectors installed on the cable, the HDMI version certification (i.e. HDMI 1.3 or HDMI 1.4), and the type of cable jacket used. As of January 1st, 2010, the HDMI Cooperative is focusing more on HDMI cable speed ratings (i.e. High-Speed HDMI Cable) rather than version numbers to reduce consumer confusion.

Question 4: Why does Wire Gauge (AWG) Matter with HDMI Cables?
Wire gauge (AWG) is absolutely critical when selecting an HDMI Cable. You should always be suspicious of vendors that do not specify what wire gauge is used in their HDMI cable designs. The first place that cable manufacturers look to for cost-cutting is the wire AWG. Cheap HDMI cables tend to use 30 or even 32 AWG wire. Thin gauge HDMI cables not only struggle to accurately transfer demanding HD content like 3D or 1080p video, but they are especially vulnerable to interference from adjacent electronics, power lines, and small appliances. Larger wire sizes present their own problems with design tolerances and a general lack of flexibility. Amphenol HDMI cables up to 16ft in length utilize only 26 or 28 AWG wire - the perfect balance.

The Monster brand doesn't work on the Zacuto EVFs. I just tried and there is no signal :{ Edit: this is trying on the Af100 and the EVF.Update: I didn't realize that the cables are directional. One end is labeled source, the other display. All is good now. There is also a tiny led light on the ends to indicate proper connection.

Monoprice.com has been absolutely great for all my HDMI cable needs. I haven't checked to see if they offer locking cables yet.

I can confirm that the brand I posted does work with the Zazuto EVF and FS100 just fine. But, they probably wouldn't be the best choice for an external recorder.

I updated my post to indicate that the Monster brand ultra slims do in fact work. My bad.... I had the cable running wrong direction.

Sweet find! Are you using the swivel adapter on both ends? I've had issues doing that with another brand.

I know I was geeking out about them. My guess is some sort of boosting signal technology.

The uni-directional cables like this are powered from the source signal. The have built in amps that buffer and re time the signal to correct for cable losses.

I purchased several 3' HDMI cables from a ebay store. The plastic connector on the jacket is too thick to plug into the F100 and DP6. I used a bench grinder to chew away the mass, they work now, but not pretty. So, avoid HDMI cables which appear to have fat connectors (the rubber / vinyl part).
