Hi folks - quick question for you:
I received my new dvx100a the other day (woohoo!) and began examining it to make sure I didn't find any dents/dings etc. I am aware of the "clunking/clanking" that occurs when the camera is powered off, so I was prepared for that sound.
However, I also found that the lens assembly (i.e. from the zoom ring forward) was SLIGHTLY loose, and could be "wiggled" a tiny tiny bit with moderate pressure. This is hardly noticeable, and doesn't appear to affect the picture quality / focus in any way, but I didn't expect to find a "loose" assembly on a $3K+ camera! Maybe I'm being too picky...
I've found a discussion on another forum
where someone mentions noticing this problem, and says that it is due to the plastic ring (between the focus and zoom rings) not fitting tightly (a design issue).
I'm curious how many of you DVX owners out there have also seen this problem? Is it something that will get worse over time, or should I not worry about it?
To check this, put your fingers on the plastic ring between the zoom and focus rings and GENTLY wiggle the lens barrel. On my camera it feels like the barrel rocks back and forth slightly (maybe 1/32" or 1/64").
Anybody else with the same issue?
