Slider Suggestions

I love the idea of using a sawhorse for a moveable mount with a slider. I have built my own ZaZa in the past and never got all that happy with the "smoothness" of the motion... it seemed the rail needed oil or something cause it kept getting hiccups in its movement...
Anyway, I am just curious if anyone has suggestions in about the same price range as the ZaZa... two different setups have grabbed my attention:

I'm about to pull the trigger on a slider, and due to its sheer weight & size, the Kessler Cinerslider out of the running, so its currently between the Atlas 10 and the Kessler Bloom Pocket Dolly. I'm currently leaning towards the Kessler PB. TBH when you take into consideration that the 41'" PB comes with outrigger feet & padded bag for $1095, the 35"Atlas 10 at $798 (with all terrain feet ) without bag doesn't look such a steal by comparison. Throw in a padded bag and there is only $200 of a difference, so given that the Kessler is longer, and can be motorised right away ( dont know if the Atlas will be ), its beginning to look better bang for your buck ... if only it didn't have those red bits and Philips signature on it !! No offence meant to Philip BTW, the signature thing is a hang up from my guitar days :)

This of course is my inexperienced opinion on sliders, being a stills shooter, so I'm open to correction / experienced advice.

Oh CRAP !!! I'm currently using a mates Cineslider at the mo, and its waaaaay too heavy for traveling with, and if, as you say, the Bloom version aint a whole pile lighter, then its not a contender for me. The Atlas 10 is not exactly lightweight either. I'm actually waiting on a Konova slider I bought just out of curiosity, as it seems to look pretty light but has proper bearings and is dirt cheap for $310 including outrigger feet, bag & shipping.

FYI...The CineSlider is only about 2 lbs heavier and about the same length as the 3' Bloom PD. Thx

I have received my Konova and to be honest, it is a GREAT slider with that price tag!!

I have used Glidetrack, DIY, and others before. This is a deal breaker for sure!!

I’m I’m looking at purchasing a Camera Slider, but am concerned with the noise level.

The Cinevate atlas 10 and the Phillip Bloom Signature Series Pocket models seems like quality made sliders and seem great for product shots. I’m concerned that when shooting short films, the noise from slide movements may affect severely affect the audio and possible make the shoots unusable. I’m using a boom microphone, and not the camera microphone. Obviously, optimizing the distance between the camera slider and boom microphone will help minimize the effect the slider noise on audio. http://www.dvxuser.com/V6/showthread.php?225345-Cinevate-Atlas-10-CAMERA-SLIDER!

All suggestions with people using these products and/or feedback/ recommendations appreciated.

I accidently won an ebay listing for the Dual Dolly RS. So I am really liking it, but it's my first slider, so that's a given. Worth the $130 so far.
