Slider Question

I spoke with Tim over at IndiSystems about his IndiSLIDER mini. I was skeptical about purchasing this product cause there have been mixed reviews but at the price-point of $99 fully built I was very interested.

I was not wanting to purchase the 24" slider, because I felt there may be scenarios that I would want the extra foot. He notified me that there will be a 36" version of the IndiSLIDER mini available very soon at $150. My questions are....

1) Does anyone know how much it will roughly cost to build the Zaza Slider at 36" and the difference in weight between a Zaza and an indiSlider mini?

2) I have heard of some wobble issues with the indiSLIDER mini, but have also read that techniques such as "slideing with the base as opposed to the camera", resolve this issue. So... does the indiSLIDER mini produce a fluid slide with proper techniques used?

Thanks to anyone who can answer these questions!!

Can't tell you the weight difference but the slider from Igus usually costs about 160 in parts, from them, probably another 20 or 30 in extra materials and tools (unless you have them already) and whatever shipping ends up being...

I think IndiFocus is an amazing company and love a lot of the products Tim puts out. I myself have the IndiSLider Pro and its awesome, however, doing a three foot move with a slider that's known to have wobble issues would be tough, as it's probably going to increase the chance of an error like that. Also I wouldn't buy something that I have to do a workaround to make it perform better. I would say either go with the pro version from indifocus or build your own from Igus. The carriage and track system is much more reliable I believe. Especially for longer moves.
