I'm trying to make sense of the design differences between two sliders on the market in my price range, the Cinevate Pegasus and Glidetrack. The Pegasus is on the outer limit of what I'm willing to spend.
The Pegasus is based on two individual rails with a carriage that rides around them. The Igus-type sliders have a carriage riding in a channel, if I'm looking at the pictures and video correctly.
Is there an engineering or performance advantage of one design over the other?
I've investigated this to death. The ultra-high-end sliders like the Ronford Baker appear to use the channel design ( http://www.ronfordbaker.co.uk/slider.html) .
What are your thoughts and experiences?
Thank you
