Slating question

Some members of my crew and I are having a debate on the procedure for "second sticks" is it proper to rotate the sticks 90 degrees when doing second sticks or to just yell out second sticks?

Second sticks also means Tail Slate--at the end of the shot.

It means the slate at the front of the shot was missed, possibly because it's a grab shot or just an error. In which case you tail slate with the slate upside down to catch the visual clue in post.

I believe these are two different things. He said 90 degrees, not 180 degrees (upside down). A second sticks can be a head slate.
