I finally got it back up. I have made some adjustments to the video and I should have that new copy up on Saturday.

Enjoy!

Another solid representation of the DVX! This is some nice work. Great job.

Re: "Skriptik Soul" Music Video

Chayse, this is one of the finest videos I've seen and the song is first class.

Well done.

Thanks bro. Means a lot coming from you. Already got a job doing a Video for a MC named Silis. He's supposed to be one of the originators of hip-hop in Uganda Africa. Should start shooting by the end of the month.

Thanks mang. The aged clips are 16mm High Speed Ektacrome/Reversal which was just discontinued by Kodak :-( and we used a old bolex to shoot it with. The stuff on the stairs is all dvx baby, shot right in the heart of "Blood Alley" in Vancouver's Eastside.

The filters we used were a 1/4 Black Promist, and a 1/2 yellow filter I like to call the Cali filter. The whole thing was no budget and we got the briefcase dolly for a two-six of Canadian and a mikkie of rum. No Glide or steadiecam. The car mount was made out of 2 suction cups without heads to mount the camera on, we had to use 2 c-stand arms and a mono-pod to mount the camera from the roof hanging upside down off the side of the car with the operator siting on top making sure it didn't fall... and I don't know how it stayed smooth... I like to think it was the driving. ::)

Camera settings... they changed so much... We made our own scene file with 24p, Master Ped kept changing threw out. We would slighty bring up our detail when wide and normal when long (careful if you have a promist... your stuff can look out of focus sometimes when on a long lens).

Vancouver represent...

Great stuff btw!

One of the best I've seen on here for sure

Re: "Skriptik Soul" Music Video

I thought it looked excellent. So was that 16:9 with an anamorphic? It looked really wide and professional. Did you do anything in post to make it (shots on steps) more filmlike or grainy? Any extra software like Magic Bullet used?

Re: "Skriptik Soul" Music Video

WOW thanx for the info

what type of lens did u use, matte box?

yeah I always wondered how do they get that greenish saturated look (like Linkin Park's one step closer)

keep it up , we'll see you someday picking up your "man on the moon" for Best Director ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

That was just 16:9. Ya we did a bit in post to make it look more grainy... like that shot where one of the characters is spraying his head with the power hose, that was DVX and adjusted in post. We didnt use any extra software, we did the whole thing in Final Cut pro HD.

We didn't use a matte box. Would have liked to. They are just too pricey, we had to tape the yellow filter on to the camera.
