I was shooting again yesterday. I tried white balancing on the snow. I noticed after a couple of runs that the colors seemed to shift from white to blue. I had to white balance on the snow again. Anyone have problems like this from white balancing on the snow?
And I was wondering what IRE levels is ideal to keep the snow at. I tried to keep it just under showing up with the 100 zebra marker.

If there's shadows then the snow is going to be different shades of white depending on where you are.
If there's clouds then the color temperature is going to be constantly changing.
Setting white balance off the snow isn't the most accurate method, but when you're out there and need something white it's the way to go. Mess around with color temp if it's a tad too blue.
Good luck.
