Hi, I just joined here, looks like a great place and I'll be here alot from here on out. Just getting started, so I am about to get a HVX200 and wanted to know if this seems a little odd that this site:

http://www.expresscameras.com/prodetails.asp?prodid=567445

is selling the HVx200 for well over $3000 less than anywhere else?

I noticed other items like p2 cards are a bit over-priced on the same site, so maybe it ends up costing the same if you buy the whole package, but do you guys think I should purchase the camera here? If not here, where is a good/trusted store?

Thanks!

no no noooooooo! that site is one of the leading documented SCAMMERS!
dont be gullible, if anyone could legally sell a camera for that price - they ALL would

spec comm, b&h, abel cinetech, full compass... all good dealers

Awesome, thanks!. I knew it was too good to be true. I am getting a quote from abelcine.com right now, so we'll se how it goes. Thanks again!

Listen to this, I buy from ebay, a company named digital shopping network who has 99% positive feedback. They are selling HVX200 for the cheapest price ANYWHERE. $4,488. They always give me free next day shipping. The camera is a black market camera, it comes with a 4 year mack warranty or whatever. I have not had a single problem with my A1, HVX200, DVX100B. Or anything. Another trusted seller with 99% feedback is selling the hvx200 for $4,249 the companies name is

barclaysphoto. Buy from them. You don't need to go to B&H, the biggest rip off in the world btw, and pay $2,000 more for better customer service. F uck that. Buy from these companies as me and my friends have done because they are perfectly fine. Ebay reviews don't lie.

man.. what an attitude. and language.. they are perfectly fine.. but that's not a great deal anyway. The Mack warranty isn't quite the same as the panny one and I've heard bad stories of that. You can find the HVX brand new with warranty for 4600 from a reputable place... this just leads to possible screw ups

The problem with buying rom these gray marketers is that your camera will not have a warranty in the US. That in my opinion is a real problem. My hands are tied when trying to help and you really have no one interested in your long term buy happiness except yourself.

Buy from an authorised dealer and give your local dealer the opportunity to offer you a price.

Best,

jan

all those cams on ebay for 4,200 are that way for a reason... because they have the 8gb p2 cards removed from the box....

nothing is free ...thats how they have the awesome deal

where was the one for 4600.... 4800 is the best I have been able to find with all accessories

The HVX doesn't come with P2 cards -- never has. There has been a period when a free card was available as a mail-in rebate, but it wasn't in the box.

fwiw: evs inc. (online too) in glendale/burbank is great as well. i bought a hvx outfit there... ask for tommy. i was able to save on the camera & filters, case, etc...
