Skateboard shop commercial

I shot this spot a year ago on a rented DVX100. That's when I fell in love with the camera. The commercial was for a store a friend of mine opened, so I shot and cut the commercial at cost. The edit was done on Adobe Premiere 6.5. Some of the scenes where shot at 30fps and some at 24fps for the jittery slo-mo effect it created when played at 30fps. Let me know what you think. By the way, thumbs up to the creators of this website, its awesome.

Re: Skateboard shop commercial

As a retailer myself……….. your video is great. :)
The neon letters with the phone # and what they have in the store… well don’t bother……. Nobody can read it. Makes the picture look very busy…….. more busy then it is already and it does not do any good. :(
>Flash the logo on the end for 2 sec longer….. and have a voiceover with the store name and Phone#.
Just my 2 cent :-X

Re: Skateboard shop commercial

Am I missing something... because the video/page will not open.

Re: Skateboard shop commercial

worked for me.. and I agree with Gregi.. those letters made it look like one of those Discount Jims super-duper-fire-inventory-clearence-I-must-be-mad-sales.

some good stuff in there though, Usually i dont like those snap zooms but at the end when you do it from the sticker on the deck to the black tail page it looked pretty cool.

Thanks for the input. I do agree with needing a voice over and the lime green graphics scrolling are a bit busy. The guy who owned the star has a version with a voice over but he liked the cut with the music more. And I have another version with different fonted graphics, but its still to much to take in 30 secs. Thanks for checking it out and for your input, keep up the great work on this website.

Re: Skateboard shop commercial

pretty nice work.... lime green OH NO ;)

One thing i noticed when doing my commercial is your creativity is limited to waht the customer wants. So you try to work both in there... so i say good job.:)
