OTHER: Skate video part! Critique please!!!!

I've seen a lot of skate videos in my younger days... The first thing that jumps out to me is how many "effects" there are. It seems to me like every other new clip/shot comes with a new visual effect.

You've got some talented skaters there that can provide good footage, I would tone down the effects and focus on their landings or fails (if fails are wanted).

Well the way I see it, there are two different "problems" with the video.

The first is your equipment, specifically the cameras you were using. A DSLR or a GoPro would have provided much better images. But those are limitations of resources and I shouldn't judge you for that.

As for taking what you had and doing something with it, the biggest problem is the overuse of effects. For me, skateboarding videos should be all about the actual skating. The effects do nothing but distract from that, and when you couple them with the subpar image quality, the video has the feel of an early 90's music video (not a good thing these days). I would say stick to straight forward shots with slow-mo added in for drama. That's not to say you can't use any effects, but to use them throughout the whole video is definitely overkill.

All that being said, it was overall edited well. Nice music and tempo. I really liked the intro credits, where did you get those from?
