SJ4000 Similar to GoPro

I spotted this small HD camera from one of my usual suppliers of audio and lighting kit in China, so got them to send me one. I saw a few being sold on ebay, so figured that as I have lost my Gopro somewhere, this could get me out of trouble. Probably, for less than $100, a load of rubbish - but I figured it worth a punt.

I have to say I'm rather pleased with it. Picture quality is pretty good, and the simple menu system is easy to follow. Best of all, the attachments and adaptors are all the same as my GoPro ones! I like the menu system better than the GoPro one - there is an up and down button on the side, the main 'go' button on top and the main on off on the front. It comes with the waterproof case and the skeleton one - and has a small, but handy LCD on the back. Field of View is 170- degrees, and two modes - 720 and 1080. Takes micro SD cards up to 32Gb, and has a USB and HDMI socket on the side.

I'm going to buy some more.
 
How are you satisfied so far with the SJ4000 ?

There are two popular low priced action cams at the moment on the market.

* Mobius
* SJ4000

Last year I did open a thread about the Mobius and I was surprised about the video quality watching vimeo videos. The mobius is especially popular because of the low weight for copter flights. In the meanwhile there is a waterproof case available aswell.

Is the w model the wifi model, and what is not good about it. thanks
Any ebay links to the model you like, there is a lot of fakes out there.
 
I bought the sj4000 wifi model, I like it a lot. I also have the gopro hero4 black, and the gopro has better resolution, only because I can compare them, but if I did not own a gopro, this sj4000 offers great pictures and video. I am using both for an outdoor shoot.
It is just a cool camera at a low price. You have no fear in putting this camera in dangerous places compared to a 500$ gopro that I am a little more protective of.

I read there might be an upgrade coming soon. just don't get the fake sj5000 out there.
