So im going to do a shoot in a field tomorrow

A bit of action/fighting

My plan was to do some handheld and have a second op covering with a 80-200 on sticks possibly at 720/60

Simple enough ?

---------

Heres a little bit of the prep

Case one
Sony EX1 as a back up mounted on handheld rig
Needs card reader, 2 batts and charger, cards

Case Two
steadicam pilot Rig - probably wont have time for this

Case three
Chargers for
SmallHD
Canon
Sony
12volt General (pilot)

Case four
Camera Grip
Two sets of rails and FF
SmallHD Monitor

Sound bag
Sanken Mic
Lav Kit
Rodevid mic
Wires
Tascam Recorder

Case five
Cameras and glass
5d, 7d,
14-50 primes, two mid zooms and 80-200
LCDVF X 2

Case six
Photon Beard Light

1k suitcase Generator
Fuel Jerries X 2
2 X 20 M Exrtension Reels

Sticks bag
Miller Sticks

Laptop Bag
Macbook
External HD
Many Cards

5X5 Kingspan - reflector

C Stands X 3 , Sandbags X 3
Bin liners and plasitc sheeting

Camera Assistant - needed to employ one !

------------
Some notes
The tascam sound recorder is flimsy on its little 1/4 screw
Had to build cradle
Small HD battery 2 is broken - no stock
Had to build backup cradles for Pilot Batteries to power small HD
LCDVF falls off - had to build cradles for them too like the new Zfinder jobbies

This DSLR thing does not seem so easy or cheap right now - Ill report back on 20 hours when it is done

Thinking this through the thing that makes the kit bloat is the requirement for power and no onscene source of power

Ill try and bin the onscene data wrangling by buying more cards if I can

Use of the monitor - while nice - ill just bin it once my three batts are down

hopefully the reflector will negate the requirement for powered light

It might be simpler to run the monitor tethered off a 12V leisure battery that I have (something else to recharge and another lead to fabricate)

We had a fun day

Location was 300m from car park

We did not have the muscle to get the geny down there

So it was batt power only

Got through I think 6 camera batts - leading to a bit of a sweat by the end of the day

monitor lasted till lunchtime

power was the issue that I will have to mug up on

And post

So Ive got a heap of cards shot on 5 and 7 at both 24p and 60p

THe plan..

Use Photomechanic especially to identify the 60 clips (sort by width)

Add prefixes to the file names -
5d_XXX
7D_XXX

To ProRes with Mpegstramclip

60P_XXX

Conform in Cinema Tools to 25p
Upsale and prores in MpegStreamClip

(wait half a day)

Next plan is to place 5d on one track 7d on second track in FCP and align A and B cams using PluralEyes

HOW I can get the in point of the 60p material is a mystery?

Edit
Output
Enjoy
