Single Handed Gimbal for A7SII

Just received my A7SII this afternoon & I was wondering if anyone here has experience with one of the single-handed gimbals such as the Ikan DS1 or MS1 combined with A7SII?

It feels quite a bit heavier than the original, so I'm thinking I may need something bigger, but would love the most compact setup possible for traveling out of the country.

Thanks in advance!

Jut picked up DS1, got it new off Ebay for $650 shipped - theres a seller that takes offers, so far I really like it. Can set it up for different cameras, can go inverted on the fly and its tool less so the initial balancing isn't too cumbersome. The overall package isn't too large and it comes in a nice padded semi-hard case.

Someone using it as a jib, pretty cool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20znTvRnaJU

The Beholder DS1 can easily handle the weight of the A7SII. The only issue (same with most single-handles) is that many long or heavy lenses put the center of gravity very far forward thus preventing achieving balance.

Really? I think it deserves at least 4/5 cats.

Yeah I keep thinking how cool it would be as a super light jib but haven't really tried it yet. I guess wifi monitoring could come in handy, though I think that precludes the use of SLOG etc.

Thanks for the info everyone!

I pulled the plug earlier today on an MS1 because it was only $480 on B&H (in used "9" condition), and I see that it only supports half the weight of the DS1. I may be screwed because gimbal manufacturers love to overstate their load capacities.

Luckily I'm using a custom lens-cap Minox Minotar lens that only weighs about 1 oz (1.4 lbs of camera + lens).

This is for a quick trip to Mexico, and when I return, if it's problematic I'll go for the DS1 instead.

So glad I don't need a massive Shogun rig for 4K gimbal shots anymore.
