single frame time lapse

Hello,

This is my first post, just having purchased the camera, and would like to record a time lapse sequence of a sunrise by shooting individual frames rather than speeding up a real time sequence. Is this possible with this camera? ie. how can I shoot individual frames and string them together to create an action sequence with single frames (like flip pages)?
Any help on this issue is highly appreciated!

thanks,

enrico

Hi there,

sounds like what you are looking for is the interval recording mode, or INTERVAL-REC as it will be in the camera setup. There are a number of time lapse modes you can use to do what you are after.
Check page 47 of the user manual for more information.

ps be careful shooting the sun directly...see this thread here...

Thanks Milezee,

for the prompt reply, that i didn't expect so soon. I'll check the user manual about the Interval-Rec set up and sun filming.

Enrico-
Be careful shooting into the sun. You want to make sure that you use enough ND. The "in camera" ND is not enough. You want to add even more ND on the lens. Otherwise you may burn the CCD's.
By the way, are you from San Francisco by chance?
