Sin City TEST

Nice job on the trailer, too bad about the audio. Did it screen in Austin? If so, what was the feedback?

Thanks for the feed back DMProds. It hasn't been screened 'yet'. I am still waiting to hear if I made it to the finalists. I should find out with in a week or two. My friend Fernando will be working on the audio. It definitely is the compression because we had about 6 or 7 tracks of audio having to be compressed to about 6 tracks of composited video. If we do put make it to the finalists, all we have to do is provide them with a miniDV tape, because what they do is print it out on 35mm! I'll have my own 35mm copy of the trailer. It's hot. Hopefully when we print it to tape, it won't be horrible in any means (which it shouldn't since it doesn't have to compress so much, persay).

My try on FCP 5

Any chance we could get something a bit less compressed? The JPEG artifacts are horrible in this thing!

I'll post my results soon.

<--- I'm a moron. Fell for the trick Luis! Yeah, I'm dense.

Here's my lame attemp. I used Primatte in AE:

I intentionally shied away from over softening the edges via blur or matte choker (I could throw one on but I'd loose the hair detail).

EDIT: Damn, forgot to desaturate the girl. Oh well. And it looks like I used the wrong export setting in AE :-P

the compression sucks on the green..so keying is, blah. added some FG elements...would read better if the shot were moving...but whateva

Couldn't agree more rich. Very nicely done. What did you use to key? I like the balance between edge detail and smoothness you pulled out of the image.
