Sin City Regional Premiere

I just got back from the movie too.

I thought it was fantastic, although I probably shoold have warned my wife about the violence.

Just got back from the 7pm viewing since i missed the 4pm. Man, it was a blast. I really enjoyed it and will probably see it again tomorrow. There were some parts that were kinda cheesy IMO, but they were easily forgotten.

Interesting bit off the IMDB. If this is true, it wouldn't surprise me:

"Rodriguez, who credits Miller's visual style in the comic as relevant as his own in the film, insisted that Miller receive a "co-director" credit with him. The Directors' Guild of America would not allow it. As a result, Rodriguez resigned from the DGA, saying "It was easier for me to quietly resign before shooting because otherwise I'd be forced to make compromises I was unwilling to make or set a precedent that might hurt the guild later on." Unfortunately, by resigning from the DGA, Rodriguez was also forced to relinquish his director's seat on the film John Carter of Mars (2006) (at the time "A Princess of Mars" after the book on which it was based) for Paramount. Rodriguez had already signed-on and been announced as director of that film when the DGA situation took place, planning to begin filming soon after wrapping this film."

Well, since this was my thread talking about the premiere, I figured I had to wait until the premiere in Austin, which was the 31st. :)

Anyways, the premiere was incredible. They had a Q&A after the movie with RR, Jamie King, Nick Stahl, and Frank Miller all in attendance. They were all having a blast up on stage. Rodriguez, since he lives in Austin, said we were going to be the "best ****ing audience ever!". It made everyone scream and shout.

First of all, one of his DVD features he is adding (that wasn't in the article someone had in the link on the first page) is pretty hilarious. He figured that if someone would be watching the movie by themselves one night they would probably feel a little lonely. The guy set up freaking microphones recording audience reactions to the movie! LOL!!! He said it will probably be in the sub-title section or something. It's like 1100 people in the confines of your home. If you hear someone say "**** YAH!" during the movie, it was most likely me. Haha, I'm trying to pull some sort of fame out of that DVD special feature.

Since I got the VIP pass, I was able to enter the cool parts of the after-party at Stubb's BBQ on 8th Street and Red River. This place was packed with people. And get this...once I get checked into the party, I walk over to the bar, where they are serving FREE BEER (ANY BEER YOU WANT!!), ask for a Shiner, turn around and BAM, Ethan Hawke is right behind me. I felt superior to him because I was taller than him! IMDB was wrong about his height... 5'11" my a$$. He's more like 5'8-5'9.

I got a pic with Robert Rodriguez himself. I don't have a website to host pics unfortunately. Does anyone have one? I'd love to post it. I also got a pic with Nick Stahl, but the woman who took the pic had no idea how to use the camera, hence me looking like a drunken bastard when she took it. LOL. Nick was a very laid back guy. He supposedly told my friend that his show, Carnivale, will be cancelled within the next few months. Oh well.

Anyways, I had a great time and the movie was INCREDIBLE. Everyone has to see it atleast twice just because it's so cool. If anyone wants any information about Sin City the movie, technicality-wise or what not, feel free to ask. Most likely I will know the answer. I've done so much research on this movie plus with the Q&A I feel I know everything!

Justin, you should of ask RR if you can come over and mow his lawn or something. I'm jealous now!

You can host your images on imageshack.us

I would love to see some pics. You anit got any of Jessica alba do you?

"**** Yah!"

Hehe, as much as I would have loved to ask him that, you could not imagine how many other people were annoying him! I decided to just get my pic and head out.

The only actors there were Nick Stahl aka Yellow Bastard, and Jamie King aka Goldie. I wish Brittany Murphy or Jessica Alba was there. I would tap those asses on a dime. (hehehe)

I'll try and get these pics up...I only have 3, and only one of them is good!

Hope this works.

Hehe, the thing about the Nick Stahl picture...

The woman who I asked to take the pic has apparently never used a camera before. I was telling her how to use it when she finally figured out you have to hold down the button, hence the facial expression.

That bish messed up the pick!

RR is about 6'3, so right around what you said. He looks pretty tall in that pic because we were on unlevel ground which didn't help. I'm about 5'10, probably slightly more.
