Sin City Regional Premiere

Justin_Kirch

Runner Up.
Well, thanks to a friend of mine reminding me, I'm going to the Sin City regional premieire! Talk about awesomeness!

This movie will be the best HD movie to date. Robert Rodriguez is going to be there, along with Frank Miller and a few 'special guests'---> apparently referring to some of the actors in the movie.

Anyone else that lives in Austin going to see this? I bought a VIP pass so I could try and mingle with the directors.

That's awesome, I wish I could go. I just finished re-reading all the comics, now I'm completely amped.

Thanks for that link John, I hadn't seen that yet.

Sweet link John. That gets me so pumped to see this. I can't wait for all the special features on the dvd release. RR never lets me down with his dvd special features.

Justin, did the premiere take place yet? I'm reading some great reviews on rottentomatoes.com. I'd like to know what you thought of the film. oh well, I'm hyped for friday!!!!

Knowing Rodriguez he's probably got the DVDs done already. Menu's and all.

I thought there were people here saying that they were going to the premiere, Ican't believe no one has posted a review yet

Okay, I saw the 12:01 show tonight (or this morning, however you want to look at it.)

Here's my review: AWESOME!!!!!!

If you liked the comics than, holy crap are you in for a treat. They took it in a direction that should have been very obvious, but I hadn't thought of, and it worked so well. The whole thing is basically line by line, shot by shot.

It's VERY (VERY) film noir, and VERY stylized.

There were a few things that I didn't like, but they were very few, and very far between. Ultra gorey, just like the comic.

Everyone, go see it now.

I will... on June 17th... That's our premiere day...

Anyway just one question: how about music? Rodriguez has a very good talent in creating atmospheric sounds... Was it the same awesome theme as in trailer and teaser?

I thought the next RR DVD was going to have the "10 Minute F*#cking School"

Umm, not for me though. I mean, I have this friend, and...

Nevermind.

going to the 4pm showing. Cannot wait!!!! BTW, from what i've read on some other forums, it seems that the only reason they did not get an NC-17 for this film is because of the stylized look. is it that freakin violent?

It's like Kill Bill, but not portrayed in a funny way.

As for the music, it's very noir-ish. Very atmospheric, and there are lots of times where there's no music at all.

Just got back from seeing it. I liked it a lot. There were just a few things which stuck out and bugged me, but it's an amazing visual piece of work. I've never read that comics, so I can't speak to how faithful it was. It was pretty entertaining.

And yes, the film is pretty violent, but I wouldn't call it a willfully violent film. This aint reality we're watching, it's Sin City. Go see it.
