Call me whatever you want. Long ago, b4 Sin City(believe it or not), I wanted to do my movie in Black, White and Red. When I say that I'm being literal. There is very little gray because I've booted the contrast to limit it to jet black and pure white.
Anyway, I've used the chroma tool to colorize the blood. The problem is that the program is recognizing skin as the same color as the red, so if I try to color blood on someone's face it is nearly impossible. Also, one person is sitting in a brown wooden chair, covered in blood, and the blood is colorized, as well as the chair and the skin. I was able to crop the chroma matte so the area the blood is in is the only section covered by the matte. The problem is that the brown of the chair is too close to the blood, so I can't crop it out. I was wondering if there is any way to hand color something. I have Xpress HD, FX, 3d. I am only effecient with Xpress.
So after all the BS my questions are, is there any way to hand color using the Avid tools AND how can you export an avid sequence into the Avid FX program.
