Silly question about image rotation info

Hey guys,

I just recently noticed that at some point my camera stopped recording rotational info for photos. I didn't know where the sensor is (i assumed it's in the camera body) but in any case I tried with legacy and panasonic lenses - in both cases rotational information was not recorded. That's both during in-camera viewing (with "rotate disp." set to "on") and PC viewing.

Is there a setting I am missing somewhere?

It's not such a big deal (camera works without a problem otherwise) but it would be nice if something with the camera is wrong. Maybe something happened after the nth hack application :)

Any ideas?

Thanks

Image rotation data actually comes from the lens. Only the lenses that have image stabilization provide the rotation data to the body. So, for instance, the 20mm pancake and the 7-14mm zoom do not provide image rotation information. I'm not sure if 4/3 lenses provide rotation information with an adapter, but other legacy lenses definitely won't. Check which lens you were using for the images that are not correctly rotated.

Ah, thank you! That explains everything. I tried only my 20mm pancake. That goes to show how little I use my 14-45mm :) Nice to know my camera isn't broken :)
