Sigh... laptop with no firewire, expresscard, or PCI slot. What to do?!

Is there an easy solution to this? Because I'm at my wits end with this. I own a DVX100B, and I'm trying to transfer my stuff to my laptop (Inspiron N5010) which has an SD card slot, several USB slots, and an esata slot. I've been looking into so many different ways. My Dazzle theory failed, mainly because I didn't do enough research to know that my computer would not read this 'jimmy' of a rig. Any suggestions?

As far as I know, you can't import live DV video over USB. Do you have access to another computer with firewire that you can just transfer footage to?

There was a cable made that converted firewire to usb, specifically for this purpose. It's no longer manufactured, but maybe you can find one on ebay or something...

If you are happy with a composite feed to your computer there are RCA to USB connectors available. They also have audio connections, and S-VHS as well. They are sometimes known as Video Grabbers.
