Hey I thought I would share my portfolio film from UW-Milwaukee:

http://vimeo.com/13249560

This is my final portfolio project for Spring 2010 at UW-Milwaukee. It is a loose narrative about a man's desire to fish and his struggles with the inclimate weather and other inscrutable factors that come along. Actor: Brad Schiefelbein Directed By: Kyle Probst Special Thanks: Travis Torok and Elton Rogers

There was no color correction done and it was shot on a Canon XH-A1.

Let me know what you think!

hmm well. I didn't quite understand the story despite it being a loose narrative I didn't see any 'inclimate weather' as the description says unless you're just referring to the cold.
Some of the shots and editing was nice, but a few were amateurish to me for example when he's sitting at the fireplace those handheld closeups of his face like at 3:20. Use a tri-pod to get a professional result, way too much of it is shakey and hand held throughout. Build a home made dolly, or steadycam, etc....

Also the lack of music I suppose was pretty detracting because it felt a little empty and boring lacking any real or decent sound design.

strong points: editing, some of the shots and sequences were very nicely done such as the shots on the jetty and when he puts his foot through the ice. Some of that was framed very well.

weak points: music non existent. sound weak, can often hear on mic camera jostling around, wind noise, etc. too many extreme close ups on his face that are jarring and seem a tad amateurish.
