Sick cat

We switched to bottled water here at my abode just recently (I think it's a scam, here in Vancouver the tap water is awesome, however that's another debate) and my GF puts both cats on bottled water immediately. One cat started throwing up four or five times a day right about then. The cat seemed normal enough otherwise, it's eating, not loosing weight that I can tell, ( to put it on the scales you'd need a handful of Valium and ten yards of saran wrap to wrap it in) so I started with the water as a possible problem putting kitty back on tap water. So far so good, no puking for a couple of days...Could it be that simple? Have I hit the mark first shot? Anyone know anything about this?

I can't imagine it being that, as that water is purified. But, if everything else is constant, and that's the only variable, it sounds like a winner.

Did you spray for bugs recently? That made our cat tweak out.

It probably was the water. I am not vet, but it is possible that the purification of the water changed it ever so slightly from the tap water but enough to mess with the cats system. If it seems better and there are no other problems, I wouldn't worry.

My pets, cat (8), dog (1) have been on bottled water since birth. Never had a problem.

It's so hard to tell. The timing could just be a huge coincidence.

4 or 5 times a day? That's pretty serious. Call your local vet and ask them.

Maybe unrelated:

My FM roomate had a large bucket of cat food. She'd buy discount large bags ect.

So one day, I feed the cats and they are hemming and hawing, so I took the dish of food and dumped it on the counter. There were little worms all over the food. Very tiny.
I showed it to the RM when she came in.

I trashed about 20lb of the food right there and gave them fresh tuna. The cat's yelled "yayyyyy".
(in cat language, lol.)

glad to hear your cat is ok now, I've had my 4 cats on tap water since birth, I live in texs
if the symptoms persist I would take the cat to the vet asap :)

thanks guys...The cats holding fast since the water switch and yes if it comes back it's vet time. I thought it highly coincidental and very unlikely the bottled water should be the culprit and still am not convinced it was more than anything but coincidence but I thought I'd put it out there and see what the nets gathered. I also considered that she eats a lot of flies and god knows where they've been.

I'm Feeling fine now:) Thanks for your concern...If the word "Vet" is mentioned one more time......

Cheers from "Mini"
