I am trying to film a time-lapse of nyc at night, but I dont know how to adjust the shuter speed to the point where I can see anything other than black on my lcd. I tried to adjust it on the shutter speed control behind the lcd panel, but it wouldnt let me put it to a level where i could see.

Im new to this camera. Help would be awesome.

Well If your in 30p the slowest you can go will be 1/30th if your in 24p the slowest will be 1/24th, the shutter speed can be fount in MENU:CAMERA SETUP: SYNCRO SCAN:YES:1/24th-1/2000th. If you are on a 100b tho you are waiting your time with the time lapse because it does not offer that option like the 100 and the 100a, you can capture 60min worth of footage tho and speed it up rapidly in your NLE and give it a time lapse look. but that take lots of space.

What are your settings for zoom, iris, gain, ND, gamma, and master pedestal? These will all effect exposure. I would think that at 1/4 sec, with wide zoom, open iris, no ND, a little gain, high gamma, and a positive master pedestal, you should probably get something workable?
