Shutter Speed When Converting to 24P!??!

Hi there, we're going to be shooting a commercial this weekend and I was wondering what the best shutter speed would be when converting to 24p. I know 1/60 is the norm because it's double the 30p frame rate, but when converting to 24p is that high enough to avoid blur when converting? I know 1/250 will give me the "Keifer Sutherland Action Show" look, so I am a little confused. Basically just want to know what the correct shutter speed should be when converting to 24p.

A million thank you's!!!!!

Best shutter to convert later would be blur free,Id say 1/250 - 1/2000.
If you will go with 1/60 or 1/50 you will end up with ugly blur in frames, and then its hard to get rid of this 30p look.
1/50 ,1/60 or lower shutter will give you cheap soap opera look for grandpa, and its a pain to look at it.

Or even better - test it yourself and dont listen to anyone ,so you wont be surprised later how your footage came out

I don't get this.

The goal is to achieve the "right" 24p look. That means that the amount of blur that you'd want in the final image should be close to what you'd get with a 1/48th or 1/50th second shutter speed. If you shoot "blur free," then that means that you would need to use an additional plug-in in post to simulate the slower shutter speed. Something like RE:Vision ReelSmart Motion Blur. More rendering time.

So this is the best advice: Shoot at 1/50th second. The fact that the footage is 30 fps doesn't matter. Each individual frame will have the same amount of blur as 1/50th shutter at 24 fps. So when you perform the conversion, the final image will already have the right amount of motion blur in it. No need for an additional plug-in.

There is no correct shutter speed.

Higher speeds = towards that Keifer Sutherland/Saving Private Ryan look.

Lower speeds = towards a smother/softer/more motion blur type look.

The choice is atheistic, you can even mix shutter speeds within the same piece if you wish, I prefer higher shutter speeds - 1/100th +

This post is largely nonsense.
