shutter speed 1/50(OFF)

Andreas, I'm going to stick my neck out here and try to offer my first advice on dvxuser (in an effort to payback the kind help I've received from others) though I'm really not experienced enough to be confident yet. My understanding is that OFF simply refers to the shutter speed mode. Whe the mode is off shutter speed defaults to 1/50 of a second. When its ON it shutter speed will be one of the other shutter speed alternatives that can be selected via the button next to it. Hope this makes sense and sorry if I got it wrong. Cheers Dan
 
Yep, off is default for whatever mode the camera is in. On allows non default speeds to be selected.
