Put your camera in M (manual) mode.
In manual mode everything is manual (unsurprisingly) so you set the shutter speed to whatever you wish.

Hi, thanks yes I realise that it is manual in manual mode, but I wish to lock the shutter speed.
i.e. when you spin the wheel to adjust it, nothing would happen.

Ah, I see.
No, you can't disable the front dial, the obvious answer would be not to spin the wheel, or if you find yourself doing it all the time stick some tape over it ?
