Ok, so I'm in the process of moving my Canon 5d mark ii, but everyone interested is aski. ng the shutter count. Is there anyway I can send someone a raw photo and they can check it since I'm on a mac and the eos info does not support it. This lack of info seems to be the only thing holding up my sale. Thanks in advance for the help.

Or, if you have photoshop, open the image with it, go to File --> File Info, select the last tab which is Raw Data and search for Image Number. Should be something like this <aux:ImageNumber>.

I just tested this with a cr2 file I shot with my 7D, how come mine says <aux:ImageNumber>0</aux:ImageNumber> does it mean its zero ?

Hmm, I actually used a Nikon file but I assumed Canon would store that information in that same variable. I was wrong. Before I found out about this though I would use an exif viewer by Opanda. I guess any exif viewer will do it though. The keyword was Shutter Actuations.

You may have problems with normal EXIF viewers getting this information. Canon tends to hide this data. I've not been able to get at it easily since my 5D mk1.

Shutter actuations isn't in the EXIF data it's stored on the camera which needs to be interrogated. There are a couple of programs that will do this for you.
