Shure FP15 Wireless?

Does anyone have any experience with the Shure FP15 wireless system? I've found very, very little mentioned online. I'm looking to pick up a wireless system and was getting ready to pull the trigger on either a Sennheiser G3 or a Sony UWP system when I spotted the Shure's.

The main reason the Shure caught my eye was that their G5 version operates in the 494-518 MHz band. I live in Southern Maine, so I can't say that the airwaves are that crowded, but using Sennheiser's frequency finder tool, it looked like the 494-518 band was pretty much empty. I doubt I'd run into any problems with a G3 or UWP system either, just figured I'd check to see what people thought of them.

I wouldn't.

It's new, just introduced at NAB 2012, but I've worked with Shure's line of wireless in that range (with the rackmount/tabletop receivers) and I don't like them (cheap construction, limited range, noisy). This seems to be the same thing, just with a compact receiver. Also, the stock lav with the kit you linked is absolute poop. The capsule unscrews from the base, often, which can hose you mid-take.

While 'most' of Shure's products are well made, I have not read any user reviews at this point... trusted or otherwise. The Sennheiser G3 system has a large user base and known pros and cons. That would be my choice for a budget system.
If you're not already aware, the G2/3 bodypack system's included ME2 mic ain't great either, so a higher quality mic element should be considered. Same with the competitive Sony system.

Thanks for the advice guys. I was planning on picking up a couple Rode lavaliers with appropriate connectors (+ XLR connectors for hardwired) regardless of what system I got. It sounds like my safest bet is with a G3 system as I don't think I'm ready to be one of the 'early adopters / guinea pigs' to see whether the Shure system is good or not.

Thanks!

Its going to be interesting.. Shure has some very nice wireless mics in their higher end stuff, and from what I see from reading their price list, it should be somewhat comparable in performance to their mid range UX systems. Good one to keep an eye on.
