For sale is a brand new, unused Shure A15AS in-line attenuator (or "Pad").

Used to attenuate the levels of many pro mics to match them more perfectly with the expected input levels / range of popular cameras, and prevent overload and distortion. For example, I purchased this originally to match up a RODE with my Panasonic AF100 - but then I sold the camera before I ever used it.

15 / 20 /25 db switchable attenuation. XLR in / out.

Possibly a dumb question. This wouldn't help overcome SPL levels over the max limit of a mic, yes?

Hmmmm. I know it attenuates the electrical signal generated by a preamp - but not sure if it attenuates an audio signal itself.

Might be a question for the audio sub-forum (or anyone else listening in on this thread...)
