Seeing as everyone else has been flaunting their latest reels i didn't want to get left behind.

My reel is a bit different from the standard ones i see on this site. It's pretty chop & change which is on purpose. it's more of an editing/cinematography reel than a director's reel.

All filmed on dvx100b with stock lense.

Anyway, let me know you're thoughts, good or bad.

cheers.

Wow, I thought that was very impressive! What software do you use for editing and CC?

You have some awesome looking footage; keep up the great work!

Couldn't agree more. All with the stock lens you say? I just got my 100b TODAY!!!! and to see that amazing footy with just a stock makes me very happy.

hi
i will give you my review ;) you have some beautiful shot. the music fit well in a weird way :) but i like it. first you have put your only best stuff in your demo. director reel or not. your first 30 second is the test for them . for your kind of reel i would edit it shorter. remove all the construction footage it'S not that impressive. know that it's professional that been there for a long time. when they your DVD they need to be amazed. don'T get me wrong you have some wonderful shot. you are talented but cut it shorter. the music is great. for me it start at like 45 second. all the stuff before didn'T attracted me. after that you put some very nice shot . so do the inverse. remove the gun stuff and just put the most amazing stuff you can. even if it broke your heart because you love your shot:) hope this help . what kind of lenses did you have ?

Lovely, lovely reel and footage! I really love the reel (not big on the music though) but man, it was very professionally done. I recognise two of the thingums in your reel - i remember your spyfest film (my grandad the hitman..r something ilke that?) and that music video with the animals. I'm a fan, and you're definitely got talent. Here's to the jobs this reel'll net ya!

Adobe Premiere pro 2.0 & magic bullet

Yup, i haven't got around to ordering my SGpro yet, will soon though. Just bought a new Nikon stills camera and some lenses in preparation for that. Stock lense is brilliant though.

for your kind of reel i would edit it shorter. remove all the construction footage it'S not that impressive.

I do have a sweet spot for that footage though, and it shows another style of film-making. They were building a pre-fab house out of straw bale & wool insulation, very interesting. I will have a re-think about it though, thanks for the advice. I'm gonna go check your reel out in a minute.

Thanks for the positive words guys. If i get around to it i will cut it down, mainly the start though.

Any more advice?

I think it looks good for the most part.

In a lot of your narrative footage we can see too many shadows. You may want to cut that footage out first if you are going for shorter.
