Hello Everyone!
Bought mine in August and have been kitting out ever since.
Cooke Varotal 20-100 3.1 PL Mount
I went with AB because I am a Steadicam Operator and I find most people in production using V-mount.
Also went with the Gemini because I found a good deal with (3) 512GB cards and the Odyssey was not out yet at that time.
HDVF-C35W viewfinder. And a set of the cheap PL mount Sony Primes that get the job done right now, but looking to upgrade that eventually.
Now I am looking for a reasonably priced 6x6 MB if anyone knows of one, and also a decent rain cover.
I have a Civil War Short I am A Cam/Steadicam on in about a month and will be happily sharing footage with you all.
I have been following the "Just got a new camera" thread for what seems forever reading a few pages a day (have to let the knowledge soak in). Now on 132.
MANY MANY thanks to all of you for sharing the knowledge. Otherwise honestly I think I would be lost, even though Art Adams is a huge help.

Now that looks like a movie camera. heh.

Go Big or Go Home! :D

Nice set-up, Adam. Love a big cine zoom on this thing.

I'd love to see some photos of this on your Steadi set up.

Thanks Keith, here is the Steadicam setup on my Archer2.
It actually balances VERY WELL and is under the weighted rate.

There are several battery plates that can go straight into the 8-pin LEMO, it is just a matter of rewiring the plug.

However, unless that plate is supplying 12v AND 24v, the camera will only output 12v on the accessory feed. I'd be very wary about running too much off an onboard battery aswell...

Looking much cleaner after the wire mod Justin!

Decided to get rid of the interface box to make it less back heavy for handheld.

Rig is currently just under 22 lbs!

I like that bracket you built for the Hyperdeck, Jo.
I think the next step for me will be to take the recorder (Samurai) off the camera completely and go with a Terradek Bolt wireless.

Keith

Just in case you're thinking what I think you're thinking, do NOT use the Bolt to feed your recorder. Just don't.

There is no way that box is doing what it claims to without some serious compression - even over relatively short distances there can be serious picture break-up and it just isn't worth the risk.

As a monitoring device, it is fine, but otherwise I would steer well clear.

Good to know. I've got a wireless FF and I've been looking for a reasonably priced wireless monitoring solution to go with it. I have an HDMI 7" monitor that I tried to get a good feed to. The HDMI wireless systems all work fine, but I can't seem to find an HD-SDI to HDMI signal converter that actually will work with anything that's not a 30p signal out of the camera (and I never shoot 30). 24p, 23.98p- they all end up with garbage signals when converted to HDMI. After trying 3 different brands and models of converter I gave up and figured well, a terradek will work by staying with HD-SDI. If it could record, too, bonus. If not, oh well. Just another experiment that comes up dunce. I've got plenty of those under my belt already in life. heh.
