i'll be sad to see this rig go (in the process of trying to sell everything).

Hope you don't mind me asking, but why are you sell everything?

Just read your blog post and you certainly addressed my main internal fear. I have never owned a dslr camera (mirrored/mirrorless) but would like to diversify my career next year and so, decided to invest in Sony this month since allot of innovation is coming from them. However I felt a sense of betrayal to the a7s users considering the age of the camera and release timeline of a7s II as most of the improvements in mk II should be applicable to the a7s.

I can't understand why Sony is adopting a smartphone strategy in an industry built on loyalty and one that rewards consumer investment.

I share this same fear because A7s II doesn't output 10bit 4K which I believe is outrageous and surprised by how the community welcomed this news. The GH5 and Samsung's next nex beast(from which ever brand that decides to stick their name on it) are GUARANTIED to impress next year and you can bet Sony will be releasing a mark III in 2016/17 since 8K will start its push into mainstream by this time next year.

As a first time customer, I am not drawn by their practices but technology and I wonder how long they can remain that way. So I'm one leg in and out.

Don't mind at all. Wonderful camera, but not getting a lot of gigs where the producers want to use it, and as it's currently set up, it's not great for home use, so I'm selling so someone else can use it and I can buy something a little better suited for my family.
