Shoulder pad base plate

Hi!

I'm going to invest in a new baseplate with shoulder pad and I'm not sure yet wich one suits me best.
I shoot a lot hand held and will have good balance to avoid counter weights.

I'm in to the movcam http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/885008-REG/Movcam_mov_303_1704b_Movcam_Rig_For_Sony.html
Or the Tilta http://www.tilta.com/product/d-6-_en.html

Does anyone have experience with those? How is the balance?
I'm probably going to buy the indian knock off from Camtree Hunt but it is exactly the same design...

Do u know anything better with even more ability to balance it.

Well there is the Zacuto VCT baseplate. It was one of the best things I saw at NAB.

Scroll down you will find it. Wont be cheap, though. But (unlike my experiences with Camtree Hunt) it will work and I will want to use it lol. Plus you can use it with any camera as opposed to one that comes with a caged setup. That said Shape has a cheaper one than the Zacuto one. I tried it out as well. Basically the same but it didn't have all the nice tiny details and the padding didn't feel as good. As for balance I'd get a flat plate or 90 degree plate for a Dionic to be used as a counterweight. And power the FS700 and 7Q and any other accessories off of the P-tap with a splitter. Longer life then. And faster charge times haha. The is a more expensive option I know but again. You can use those batteries and that plate on anything else moving forward.

That's just me, though! =)

I think Zacuto is working on a universal baseplate, where you could really adjust it so the weight ends up at the right place. Not sure if it's been released yet though...

problem em with most other shoulder pads/base plates is that the put the shoulder pad too far back, making the camera front heavy without counterweights...

The Zacuto VCT baseplate is similar to the Vocas F55 baseplate, for which there is an adapter plate to fit it to the FS700. It's extremely clean and elegant in design and works great.
