I can't believe someone hasn't come up with a rear shoulder mount extension for the HVX.
The balance would not be perfect, but it would give an extra axes to stabilize on.
Does anyone see this as one of the only drawbacks to the HVX?
Does anyone else think this could be done?

just got the spiderbrace and it rocks!
i attached my varizoom and its just great!
super light and great price!

yup!
i basically cut off all the foam on the right side handle and took black electrical tape and wrapped it up.

Thanks for the link. I'll be looking for all the HVX accessories at NAB.
With the HVX being so afforadable, it's going to cost more to accesorize it then the original price! :) But that's not a bad thing!

You may want to consider the Image 2000 Dual handgrip shoulder support by brins &sawyer, its much better constructed then the Cavision; utilizing an all metal design.

re: the Spiderbrace. Is it useable with one hand i.e. changing iris etc.? Just ordered online with the Libec remote focus........looks lik a good affordable combination.

I played around with the PAG orbitor for ten mùinuts at IBC last year, and liked it a lot. Like the DVrigPRO, but you can pan with it aswell. No altering the height like the DVrig though...

With the DVRigPro, could you get an actor to put it on, turn the camera around and get cool Requiem for a Dream close-up shots (obviously with a wide angle lense).

Is that possible?

With a wide angle you will see the shoulder brace, What you want can be done with the DvRigJunior.
