should I see interlacing while shooting 24P?

I just loaded up footage from a previous shoot which I know I was shooting in 24P mode. Not sure if it was 24P advanced, but should I be seeing interlacing in either 24P mode?

I imported in them into FCP HD, but not sure if I had the correct setting for importing 24P footage. Any help is greatly appreciated!

youll see interlacing if you havent removed the redundant frames using the correct pulldown in a 24p project.. or if your working in a 60i project and havent removed the frames.

Maybe I missing something. You shoot in 24p but it will looked interlaced until you change it in post? So you just can't shoot in 24p and edit? Doesn't p mean not interlaced? Like I said maybe I missed something

The source (what's coming out of the camera's CCDs) is a true progressive signal. In order to be stored on MiniDV tape, it needs to be converted in some way, shape, or form to 60i.

Either pulldown can have itself removed in post, and yes - if you want to see the native 24P frames, you'd need to remove the pulldown in post. But you're just re-attaining the original frames, and it shouldn't be confused with a digital effect converting 60i video to LOOK like 24P video. It's just re-arranging the information in the video signal to be presented in whichever format necessary (24P for computers, 60i for tape)

Ok I think I got it now. So for now I can get the DVX record in 24p edit in FCEwithout worry about to much else? Then later get FCP where you can do real 24p editing
