Should I keep Canon 56mm 1.4 Prime fixed

I have a used Canon USM 1.4 56mm size 50mm fixed lens for my Rebel XT.
I am looking into moving to the GH1 - is this an adaptable lense worth keeping and is a 1.4 50mm fixed a good compliment with the kit lens or no?

It's a good lens for the GH1 but you won't have manual aperture control, you'd be better off selling the EOS mount 50mm f/1.4 and getting a Canon FD 50mm f/1.4 + adapter, and you'll almost certainly have some money left over - the GH1 loves light and a lens that can open up to f/1.4 can save you in a lot of situations.
 
Sounds like a plan, but how about a similar quality and priced wide angle - what brand and model would I need for that? I read the GH1 may not be great for shooting sports, will the wide angle help with whatever issue comes into play for fast moving action (photographs)
