Should I buy Nikon mount or Canon mount lenses?

I am about to purchase two Samyang/Rokinon primes (35mm and 85mm) but I am not sure if I should go with the Canon mount or the Nikon mount (with an adapter to fit my Canon body).

Who knows what camera I will be filming with in the future and I have heard that canon lenses cannot be adapted to fit other bodies while Nikon can. I don't want to have to sell if I end up on a non-canon body.

My question:

Is there any reason to get the Canon mount over the Nikon? I do not mind the price of the adapter (Fotodiox makes a nice solid metal one). There is not any image sacrifice due to the added space from the adapter correct?

Thanks.

I switched to Nikon-mount lenses to make sure I can use them with whatever camera has the edge in the future.

Thanks guys!

I'm about to buy the Nikon version I think. I already have a Nikkor 50mm so why not start a Nikon mount lens collection for "future proofing."

My only concern would be the focus distance markings on the lens being off. Is this a concern?

If the adapter you're using is good, the mount flange to focal plane distance should remain identical, and all the focus distances should stay exactly the same. However, I tend to find that with most 35mm photographic lenses, the marked focal distances are too widely spaced and certainly not accurate enough to be worth using anyway.
